Town of Markham advises that we are not permitted to use the diamonds tonight (May 27, 2009)

Good Afternoon everyone,

Due to the rain we are currently receiving and the amount of rain we are expected to receive this evening all sport field permits for this evening have been cancelled. According to the weather forecast we are expected to receive 20-30mm of rain by tomorrow morning.

Operations staff will be monitoring the fields and revised forecast tomorrow in order for us to advise you when the fields will be re-opened.

In addition the York Region District School Board has cancelled all permits on all their fields until Saturday morning.

Thank you for your cooperation in staying off of the fields. In addition to preserving the fields and not causing damage you will also be avoiding the possibility of players being injured.
